DROGIE STUDENTKI, DRODZY STUDENCI,
dnia 18.06.2021 r. weszła w życie Uchwała Senatu Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego nr 206 w sprawie: zasad osiągania przez studentów Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego efektów uczenia się w zakresie znajomości i umiejętności posługiwania się nowożytnym językiem obcym.
Zgodnie z § 1 ust. 1 tej uchwały absolwent studiów I stopnia prowadzonych w UŁ powinien posiadać umiejętności językowe w zakresie studiowanej dyscypliny zgodne z wymaganiami określonymi dla poziomu B2 Europejskiego Systemu Opisu Kształcenia Językowego.
Ust 2.: "Absolwent studiów II stopnia oraz absolwent jednolitych studiów magisterskich prowadzonych w Uniwersytecie Łódzkim powinien posiadać umiejętności językowe w zakresie dziedzin nauki i dyscyplin naukowych, właściwych dla studiowanego kierunku studiów, zgodne z wymaganiami określonymi dla poziomu B2+ Europejskiego Systemu Opisu Kształcenia Językowego."
§ 3 tejże uchwały informuje o obowiązku zdawania testu określającego poziom znajomości wskazanego przez studenta nowożytnego języka obcego "...W przypadku uzyskania z testu liczby punktów odpowiadających poziomowi znajomości tego języka, odpowiednio B2 dla studentów studiów I stopnia i jednolitych studiów magisterskich, student ma prawo do rezygnacji z uczestnictwa w lektoracie z danego języka i przystąpienia do egzaminu końcowego.” Jednocześnie po zdaniu egzaminu końcowego student powinien wybrać lektorat:
- tego języka obcego na wyższym poziomie,
- innego języka obcego oferowanego przez Studium Języków Obcych UŁ na dowolnym poziomie, bez konieczności zdania egzaminu z tego języka.
Realizując postanowienia tej uchwały przygotowaliśmy dla Państwa test diagnostyczny z pięciu języków (angielskiego, niemieckiego, francuskiego, rosyjskiego i hiszpańskiego). Testy te zostały umieszczone na uniwersyteckiej platformie do zdalnego kształcenia (https://moodle.uni.lodz.pl) w postaci kursów o nazwie Test z języka … Żeby rozwiązać test należy zalogować się na platformie i zapisać do odpowiedniego kursu. Procedurę logowania można wykonać z dowolnego komputera podłączonego do Internetu z dowolna przeglądarką. (Mozilla FireFox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrom)
Po zalogowaniu się do platformy należy odnaleźć na liście kursów odpowiedni kurs np. Test z języka angielskiego. Po wybraniu kursu zostaną Państwo poproszeni o podanie kodu dostępu do kursu. Kod dostępu jest taki sam, jak w przypadku kursu BHP (kod jest dostępny w dziekanacie danego wydziału). Zwracamy uwagę, że każdy z wydziałów ma inny kod – nie należy używać kodu z innego wydziału!

PROSZĘ ZACHOWAĆ WYNIK TESTU!
Testy diagnozują kompetencje językowe odpowiednio na poziomie A1, A2, B1, B2, B2+. Każdy z testów składa się 20 pytań jednokrotnego wyboru (jedna odpowiedź poprawna). Czas na rozwiązanie pojedynczego testu – 10 minut! Do testu można przystąpić tylko 1 raz! Test należy rozpocząć od poziomu A1. Po uzyskaniu wyniku powyżej 70% poprawnych odpowiedzi, możliwe będzie przejście do kolejnego testu A2 a potem kolejno do B1, B2, B2+. Łącznie więc test składa się ze 100 pytań podzielonych na 5 poziomów A1, A2, B1, B2, B2+. Test jest progresywny: jeśli nie uzyskają Państwo na danym poziomie minimum 70% odpowiedzi poprawnych (14 punktów na danym poziomie) , to kolejny poziom „nie otworzy się”. Jeśli kolejne pytania okażą się zbyt trudne, proszę je pominąć i zakończyć rozwiązywanie testu. Po zakończeniu testu (także po upływie limitu czasu) zostanie wyświetlony uzyskany wynik i w zależności o liczby uzyskanych punktów możliwe będzie otworzenie testu na kolejnym poziomie. Wyniki testów są dostępne także dla dziekanatów i Studium Języków Obcych.
Uwaga: samodzielne i uczciwe rozwiązanie testu leży w Państwa interesie – pozwoli na ocenę Państwa kompetencji językowych i wybranie właściwego lektoratu. Test pozwoli jedynie wtedy obiektywnie ustalić poziom językowy, jeśli będzie rozwiązywany samodzielnie i w trakcie nie będziecie posługiwać się Państwo pomocami naukowymi (podręcznik, słownik itp.).
Jeśli okaże się, że osiągnęli Państwo wynik na poziomie A1 lub A2, proszę podjąć odpowiednie kroki w celu nadrobienia braków. Sugerujemy kontakt ze Studium Języków Obcych UŁ, gdzie otrzymają Państwo fachową poradę.
Warunkiem nabycia prawa do zwolnienia z lektoratu po zdaniu w wyznaczonym przez SJO terminie egzaminu końcowego (programowego) na poziomie minimum B2 zawierającego elementy języka specjalistycznego dla danego kierunku studiów oraz nabycia prawa do wyboru tego języka na wyższym poziomie lub innego języka na dowolnym poziomie (również od poziomu starter), jest uzyskanie dla poziomu B2 co najmniej 70 % poprawnych odpowiedzi i dla poziomu B2+ również 70 % poprawnych odpowiedzi.
Jeśli osiągnęli Państwo wynik uprawniający do rezygnacji z zajęć lektoratowych (B2, B2+) prosimy o podjęcie przemyślanej decyzji odnośnie zwolnienia z lektoratu, ponieważ zaliczenie tego testu nie zwalnia Państwa z egzaminu końcowego (programowego) na poziomie B2 lub B2+, a egzamin ten zawiera elementy języka specjalistycznego dla danego kierunku studiów. Szczegółowe informacje dotyczące treści programowych oraz literatury obowiązkowej i uzupełniającej są dostępne w opisie przedmiotu w systemie USOS. Sugerujemy również kontakt z lektorem prowadzącym zajęcia na danym kierunku w godzinach dyżurów.
Uwaga: na podstawie decyzji Komisji Dydaktycznej z dnia 08 maja 2014r. test diagnostyczny od roku akademickiego 2014/15 jest testem obowiązkowym dla wszystkich studentów studiów stacjonarnych i niestacjonarnych pierwszego stopnia oraz jednolitych studiów magisterskich, którzy rozpoczęli studia w danym roku akademickim. Rozwiązanie testu jest konieczne, aby zapisać się do grupy lektoratowej.

Po rozwiązaniu testu prosimy o wypełnienie właściwej deklaracji:
- deklaracja wyboru języka (załącznik nr 1). Deklarację tę powinni wypełnić studenci, którzy nie deklarują zamiaru zwolnienia z uczestnictwa w obowiązkowym lektoracie programowym. Wypełnioną deklarację należy niezwłocznie dostarczyć do właściwego dziekanatu. Na tej podstawie zostaną Państwo przydzieleni do grup lektoratowych;
- deklaracja przystąpienia do egzaminu programowego oraz wyboru innego języka obcego (załącznik nr 2). Deklarację tę powinni wypełnić studenci, którzy w teście diagnostycznym nabyli prawo do zwolnienia z lektoratu i deklarują zamiar wystąpienia do dziekana wydziału z wnioskiem o zwolnienie z uczestnictwa w lektoracie i przystąpienie do egzaminu końcowego - programowego przed rozpoczęciem lektoratu (załącznik nr 5). Wypełnioną deklarację należy, po uzyskaniu zgody dziekana, dostarczyć do sekretariatu Studium Języków Obcych w nieprzekraczalnym terminie do dnia 15.01.2024r. Na tej podstawie zostanie Państwu wyznaczony termin egzaminu końcowego oraz zostaną Państwo przydzieleni do grup lektoratowych innego języka;
- deklaracja wyboru drugiego języka obcego po zaliczeniu lektoratu na podstawie certyfikatu (załącznik nr 3- fakultatywnie). Deklarację tę wypełniają studenci, którzy deklarują zamiar wystąpienia do dziekana wydziału z wnioskiem o zwolnienie z uczestnictwa w lektoracie na podstawie posiadanego certyfikatu międzynarodowego (załącznik nr 4) i jednocześnie deklarują zamiar udziału w lektoracie innego języka na dowolnym poziomie. Wypełnioną deklarację należy, po uzyskaniu zgody dziekana, dostarczyć do sekretariatu Studium Języków Obcych w nieprzekraczalnym terminie do dnia 15.01.2024r. Na tej podstawie zostaną Państwo przydzieleni do grup lektoratowych innego języka.
Uwaga: posiadanie certyfikatu międzynarodowego ( Załącznik do Uchwały nr 206 Senatu UŁ z dnia 18 czerwca 2021r.) uprawnia do zaliczenia lektoratu języka obcego nowożytnego bez konieczności wyboru innego języka (podanie do dziekana wydziału należy złożyć po zaopiniowaniu przez Studium Języków Obcych- załącznik nr 4).
Testy diagnostyczne będą dostępne na uniwersyteckiej platformie zdalnego kształcenia od dnia 30 października 2023 r. do dnia 22 grudnia 2023 r.

DEAR STUDENTS,
On 18 June 2021 the Senate of the University of Lodz passed resolution No 206 stipulating the rules students should apply to learn modern foreign languages.
Pursuant to § 1 point 1 of the resolution graduates from first-cycle studies offered by the University of Lodz should demonstrate the language skills indispensable in the fields under study, in compliance with the requirements specified for level B2 in the Common European Framework of References for Languages,
Point 2 stipulates that "Graduates from the second-cycle studies as well as graduates from uniform master’s studies offered by the University of Lodz should demonstrate the language skills relative to the subject of study, corresponding with the requirements specified for B2 level in the Common European Framework of References for Languages."
§ 3 of the resolution provides information about the obligation to take a placement test determining the level of knowledge of the foreign modern language chosen by the student. “…When a placement test scoring corresponds with the scoring reflecting B2 level for students of the first-cycle studies and uniform master’s studies, the student may decide not to take part in the compulsory university language course in that language and take the final foreign language examination.” If this is the case, after passing the final exam the student is obliged to choose a language course:
- at a higher level of the same foreign language,
- any other foreign language offered by the Foreign Language Centre (SJO) at the University of Lodz at any level and does not need to take an exam in this language.
To carry out the provisions of this resolution, we have prepared for you placement tests in five languages (English, German, French, Russian and Spanish). The tests are available at the university platform designed for distant learning (https://moodle.uni.lodz.pl) and entitled Test in … (language). To do the test, you should log in the platform and enroll in an appropriate course. You may log in from any computer connected to the Internet with any search engine. (Mozilla FireFox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrom)
After logging in the student should find an appropriate course in the list of courses, for example Test in English. Then you will be asked to give the course access code. The access code will be the same as the code for the BHP (Occupational Health and Safety) course (code is available from the Dean’s Office of each faculty). Importantly, as each faculty has a different code it is forbidden to apply a code from a different faculty!

IT IS FORBIDDEN TO ENROL FOR THE TESTS IN A NUMBER OF LANGUAGES!

The tests are designed to diagnose language competences at A1, A2, B1, B2, B2+ levels. Each test comprises 20 multiple-choice questions with only one correct answer each. The time allowed to do one test is 10 minutes! You may take the test only once! The test should begin at level A1. After scoring more than 70% of the correct answers it will be possible to pass to another test at A2 level and then to B1, B2, B2+ . Thus, the test comprises 100 questions divided into 5 levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, B2+. This is a progressive test, which means that if you fail to gain minimum 70% (14 points) at a specific level, the next level “will not open”. If successive questions turn out to be too difficult, you should omit them and finish the test. When you finish the test or exceed its time limit, the scores are displayed and, depending on their number, the test at a higher level will be opened. The test scores are also available for Dean’s Offices at faculties and the Foreign Language Centre.
Attention! It is important that you do the test on your own and honestly as this will enable assessment of your language competencies and selecting a proper language course. The test can determine your language level objectively only when it is done independently and with no learning aids (dictionary, textbook and the like).
If your scoring classifies you as an A1 or A2 student, we recommend that you undertake appropriate steps to make up for any deficiencies. We suggest contacting the Foreign Language Centre (SJO) of the University of Lodz, where you can get professional advice you may need.
To become exempted from the compulsory language course after passing the final curriculum exam including elements of the specialist language for a specific university course at a minimum B2 level on the date determined by SJO and to obtain the right to choose this language at a higher level or another language at any level (including the starter level), the student should have at least 70% of correct answers at B2 or B2+ level.
If your test score entitles you to be exempted from the compulsory language course (B2, B2+), please, make sure that your decision is thoughtful in this respect as this does not exempt you from the final curriculum exam at B2 or B2+ level and such an exam includes elements of the specialist language for a specific course. Detailed information on the curriculum as well as on the basic and supplementary literature can be found in USOS system in the course description. We also recommend that you contact language teachers conducting the specific language course.
Attention! Based on a decision of the Didactic Board dated on 08 May 2014, since academic year 2014/2015 the placement test has been obligatory for all full-time and part-time students of first-cycle studies and uniform master’s studies who commenced studies in a given year. To enrol in any compulsory language course group it is required to do such a test first.

After doing the test, please fill in the relevant declaration:
- the language choice declaration (annex no.1). The declaration should be filled in by the students who do not want to be exempted from the compulsory language course and immediately delivered to the Dean’s Office of a relevant faculty. Based on this you will be allocated to specific language groups;
- declaration on taking the curriculum exam and selecting another foreign language (annex no.2). The Declaration should be filled in by the students who can be exempted from the compulsory language course following the placement test score and intend to apply to the Dean to be exempted from the compulsory language course and to take the curriculum exam before the language course starts (annex no.5). After obtaining the Dean’s consent, the completed declaration should be delivered to the secretary’s office of the Foreign Language Centre (SJO) by 15 January 2024. On that basis you will be given the date of the curriculum examination and you will be allocated to another foreign language course group;
- declaration on selecting another foreign language after obtaining credit for the compulsory language course on the basis of a certificate (annex no.3- optionally). The Declaration should be filled in by the students who intend to apply to the Dean to be exempted from the compulsory language course on the basis of an international certificate they hold (annex no.4) and also declare they want to attend another foreign language course at any level. After obtaining the Dean’s consent, the completed declaration should be delivered to the secretary’s office of the Foreign Language Centre (SJO) by 15 January 2023. On that basis you will be allocated to another foreign language course group.
Attention! Holders of international certificates (Annex to Resolution No. 206 of the Senate of the University of Lodz, dated 18 June 2021) are entitled to obtain credit for the compulsory modern foreign language course with no need to select another foreign language (an application to the Dean of Faculty should be submitted upon the consent of the Foreign Language Centre (SJO) – annex no.4).
Placement tests will be available on the University platform for distant learning between 30 October 2023 and 22 December 2023.
