Cyfrowe doświadczenia czyli Digital Skills Festival Biura Karier UŁ

The University of Lodz Career Office closed this year’s calendar of events with an initiative during which employers had an opportunity to share their experiences in the field of modern technologies and digital tools. Throughout 5 days at the Career Office, University of Lodz Library as well as in the online formula students could benefit from the knowledge of experts during the organised training and workshops.

Conversation about the need to learn

  • "The meeting itself is a good dose of practical information that I am able to make real use of (...). There is certainly a lot of learning ahead of me, but the meeting has motivated me to deepen knowledge further"
  • "Friendly atmosphere, examples of exercises taken from real-life examples to illustrate and make the learning process easier"
  • "Knowledge, charisma, commitment and professionalism of the meeting leaders, the opportunity to interact with the person in charge"

These are only some of many positive opinions following the Digital Skills Festival 2022, which, together with the results of the surveys, indicate the need to organise this type of initiatives and create further opportunities to deepen the habit of developing one's competences.

As Prof. Agnieszka Kurczewska, the UL Vice-Rector for External Relations emphasises:

Conversation about competences is a conversation about the need to learn. The essence of competences is to shape the habit and the ability to build them. Today, digital competences are absolutely crucial for every student and graduate. Regardless of the job we do and the career path we choose, digital competences are essential for our lives, because each of us must consciously and efficiently use digital tools. The Digital Skills Festival is another extremely valuable initiative of the University of Lodz that strengthens the competences of our students.

Social media, Excel, PowerPoint...

Throughout the week the students learnt, among other things, how to take care of one’s LinkedIn profile, how to manage an application in a start-up, they tried new tricks and interesting Excel functions. They also learnt more about cybersecurity and got to know how to increase efficiency by the use of Kanban boards. However, that’s not all – the companies demonstrated the possibilities of Power Point and how to create a professional Pitch Deck, which will come handy not only in the world of start-ups.

It was a very intense and fruitful week. We would like to thank our Partners: Adaptive Solutions & Advisory Group, Medme, EY Global Delivery Services Careers, EY, PwC Polska, Philips, Infosys Poland, Marsh McLennan, SeniorApp, LSI Software, ABW for the support in organising the event and the students for yet another meeting with the UL Career Office.

The University of Lodz Career Office already invites you to take part in another initiative – Academy of Competence, which will be held in March 2023. We encourage you to follow the website of the Career Office, its fanpage on Facebook and see what is happening at our headquarter, Lumumby 14!
