The ceremony was an opportunity to meet friends, colleagues and students. The beginnings of the activity at the University were recalled, as well as establishing close relationships that often continue to this day. Each of the degree holders received a commemorative diploma signed by the Rector of the University of Lodz, thesis supervisor and a dean of the home faculty.

Most of the honoured persons are still active in scientific work and participate in the life of their faculties.

So far, 104 outstanding representatives of the University of Lodz have been honoured this way at the University of Lodz.
